Sunflower Tree

This painting, made on canvas with acrylic paint, represents a serene and contemplative landscape.

The setting is made up of an extensive green valley, crossed by a river that gently meanders, leading the eye to a small house lost on the horizon. In contrast to the stillness of the landscape, a monumental sunflower tree stands — the only note of surrealism in the composition. Its disproportionate scale and explosion of vibrant yellow create a point of visual tension that balances the bucolic with the imaginary. Acrylic allowed the exploration of both soft transparencies in the aquatic and atmospheric areas, as well as denser and opaque layers in the flowery canopy, giving the work a tactile and chromatic richness.

This painting reflects my interest in landscapes that live between reality and dreams, where the natural meets the extraordinary.
