Generic for Cidade de Deus Movie

This project, developed for the Multimedia Design course, began with a random draw that assigned me director Fernando Meirelles; I chose the film City of God as the basis for creating an animated title sequence.

For the music, I selected "Preciso Me Encontrar" by Cartola—a song whose rhythm and lyrics resonate perfectly with the narrative's themes of searching, identity, and belonging. The visual style employs a minimalist, vector-based aesthetic featuring vibrant, contrasting colors that evoke the energy and cultural diversity of Rio de Janeiro. The animation unfolds in three stages: an opening sequence featuring a fleeing chicken, referencing the film's start; the introduction of the main characters, each with their own distinctive traits; and a concluding panoramic view of Rio and its favelas, establishing the setting where the action takes place.

The piece incorporates typographic elements, sound effects, and dynamic editing to create an immersive atmosphere that foreshadows the film's tone and aesthetic.
