Project information
This project, developed for an illustration course, involved creating two posters for Cirque du Soleil based on the theme "The Jungle."
The challenge lay in exploring different color approaches and compositions while maintaining narrative and visual coherence. The first poster—a horizontal design—utilized the three primary colors and their corresponding secondary colors against a neutral background, featuring three main characters and two secondary ones; all were inspired by horned mammals: the Markhor (goat), the Watusi cattle, and the African buffalo. The second poster—a vertical design—employed three warm colors against a cool background, featuring three main characters inspired by insects: the ladybug, the dragonfly, and the bee. In both posters, the animals were reimagined as masks and costumes for circus performers, forging a connection between the wild and the performative worlds.
This project allowed me to explore the language of illustration applied to communication design, playing with color, composition, and visual storytelling.
