Luma – Campus Farewell

This project was developed for the 3D Digital Modeling course under the theme "Campus Farewell!", which celebrated IADE’s relocation to its new campus in the Oriente district.

The assignment involved creating a 30-second animated video featuring an anthropomorphic character and a minimalist setting, based on a provided template. I drew visual inspiration from Studio Ghibli films, aiming for an organic, soft, and emotive aesthetic. The narrative follows Luma—a character made of light—walking alongside a companion (inspired by the animal sidekicks found in Ghibli movies) while carrying a suitcase. Along the way, books from a large tree—symbolizing knowledge and memories of the old IADE—are drawn into the suitcase, representing the gathering of the school's essence. Luma passes through a building inspired by Ghibli architecture, symbolizing the transition to a new chapter. Upon exiting, a surreal landscape appears: a vast lawn resting on the water. Luma sets down the suitcase, which opens in a burst of light, releasing the books to float within the new space. The character then vanishes into the light, having fulfilled the mission of transporting the soul of the old IADE to the new campus.

The process involved modeling in Blender, applying materials, lighting, and animation, resulting in a final 30-second video.
